A STORY OF TAKING CHANCE
I launched Lusso with the help of local Cleveland businesses and began hosting makeup parties to introduce women to my products.
The journey to Lusso began over 30 years ago. At 16, I was living on my own while finishing high school. The guidance of teachers, friends, and mentors helped me through difficult times and sparked my passion for photography, art, and creativity. I started a photography business and taught myself makeup artistry to help clients look their best in photos. Later, my experience with theatrical makeup further refined my skills and laid the foundation for Lusso.
At 21, my photography business was struggling, so I worked as a handyman to make ends meet. Though the work was honest, I knew my true passion was makeup. With encouragement, a small loan from a friend, and a lot of determination, I spent my evenings building what would become Lusso Cosmetics.
A newspaper feature—and later regular television appearances—helped spread the word, giving me the confidence to leave my handyman job and open my first store.
As the business grew, I wanted complete control over the quality of my products. I taught myself cosmetic chemistry, built my own laboratory and production facility, and began developing and manufacturing Lusso products in-house. Today, we proudly create our own cosmetics in the Cleveland area, allowing us to deliver exceptional quality without compromise.
